Bharti Infratel Scholarship Program, was launched in March 2016 by Bharti Infratel Limited, one of the largest telecom tower infrastructure providers in India, in association with Shishu Sarothi. This project aims to provide financial support to students with disabilities for pursuing professional or technical education, which in turn will help them get employment ready, and thus self-reliant. The scholarship program is designed to benefit students across the eight states of the Northeast viz: Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura .and. Meghalaya.
This project will provide deserving disabled students from the Northeast, access to opportunities which otherwise are out of their reach due to financial barriers. The objective is to promote inclusive participation, improving quality of life of the marginalized, address inequality, provide equal opportunity and promote a culture of accessibility for persons with disability.
